How do you capture the ever growing curiosity of an Astronomer on her wedding day? I take her to work to take pictures!
Amelia is the planetarium director at the University of Wyoming and is increasingly active in Astronomy on campus and around the world. When she and I were discussing ideas for her wedding portraits, it seemed natural that we take some pictures where she feels at home. She spends more of her time in labs and looking at the stars than just about any other location.
Capturing the Couple's Personality
I always try to get to know each couple and incorporate their interests and hobbies during engagement and wedding portraits. During Amelia and David's engagement pictures, I had them bring beautiful clothing which emphasized long lines and timeless themes which they enjoy wearing. We believe in reflecting each couples relationship and where they as a couple are happiest. We love giving a leather bound album of these very beautiful and emotional photographs to each couple. We call it a Reflections of Love Album, Reflections for short. Amelia and David during their Reflections went to the highest point of any transportation corridor in the United States at the Ames National Historic Landmark which looks down on the Rocky Mountains.
An Astronomical Wedding
And, during the wedding photos, Amelia and David went to the observatory on top of the University of Wyoming Physical Science building and, to them actually, the top of the world, emotionally speaking. These observatory wedding inspiration photos as man and wife were in their Wedding Album: Volume Two to have forever in superior quality photographic art form. Our family has been processing and printing wedding stories like Amelia and David's in the Rocky Mountain Region now for one hundred and twenty one years. This beautiful intimate wedding was filled with love. The highlight of the day was climbing to the top of the University of Wyoming campus enjoying the incredible view of the Laramie Range from the University's telescope.
Photographer's Note
Anne has always believed that wedding photographs are meant to be lived with: displayed on your walls, enjoyed on your coffee table, shared with family, and kept close at work and throughout your everyday life. Wedding photographs are an investment in one of the most meaningful chapters of your life your wedding story, when life becomes we instead of me.
Anne's devotion to understanding what her clients enjoy, the people they love, and the activities that fill their days allows her to incorporate the things that make each couple unique in the photographs she creates. Thus creating a priceless work of emotionally commissioned art. This is truly a one of kind treasurer that becomes more valuable over time. Ludwig photographs transcend time, styles which come and go in and out of fashion because they photograph on core experiences, raw emotion, and the love each couple share with each other and those around them whom they cherish.
Amelia and David were a joy to photograph, and Ludwig Photography was honored to be a part of this chapter in their lives. Their wedding was truly “Astronomical!”
